LetsLocalise
What is LetsLocalise?
LetsLocalise is a social initiative that provides an innovative solution to the challenge of financial cuts in our schools. We are building a simple but ground-breaking way of enabling schools to tap into support within their local communities – support that they have previously found difficult to access. This service is free for all state schools.
LetsLocalise were crucial in enabling us to raise over £26,000 to rebuild the Rainbow Room Playground in Summer 2022!
Our children in Year 3 are loving being involved in the Grow@School project where they are using our tower garden to grow amazing produce and to learn about soil, plants and growth.
How does LetsLocalise work?
The platform creates connections between members of the community and their local schools. By allowing schools to share details of upcoming events, fundraisers and more, individuals and companies can clearly see how and where they can most productively offer their help, expertise, time and money in ways that are productive, meaningful and enjoyable.
In what ways can I get involved with LetsLocalise?
If you're a parent at Woodhouse... sign up for a LetsLocalise login and you can support our school with exciting projects and appeals.
If you’re an individual or organisation… Do you want to partner with, donate to or volunteer at a local school? Then simply create an account and search for local schools in your area. Every LetsLocalise partner school has its own page on which you’ll be able to see the various ways you can help out. Be assured that LetsLocalise is a trust-enabled platform, meaning we you’ll have to verify your identity before pledging but schools can be confident everyone using the system is authentic.
If you represent a corporation – Do you want your CSR programmes to be added to our database of corporate social responsibility initiatives? E-mail us directly at mailto:info@letslocalise.co.uk.
How can I join LetsLocalise?
It’s easy! Just sign up at www.letslocalise.co.uk and start following schools. Simply use the ‘Find School’ feature to search the schools that you want to support.
You can add LetsLocalise to your phone home screen. To see the guide for this, click here.
Over the course of the past 3 years or so, with their support, we have been able to:
- Organise a range of online quiz nights during the lockdowns, keeping our community together in tough times.
- Access laptop and technology donations from corporate organisations at no cost to school.
- Receive hundreds of bottles of hand sanitiser gel for use in the pandemic, thanks to national companies.
- Raise thousands of pounds towards updating the school’s outdoor areas, in particular the Rainbow Room playground.
- Get our students involved with various sustainability focused programmes, including the brilliant Grow@School project making such an impact in Year 3 and 2FP this year.
None of the above could have happened without the help of our extended community. More importantly, there is no school community without parents and carers! In the new academic year, we will continue building our connected community further through the LetsLocalise initiative and we are inviting you to join this please, if you haven’t done so already.
The process is simple. Visit the link below, complete the registration and once logged in, search for Woodhouse Primary Academy and start following us. This will ensure that you won’t miss out on anything, and you’ll even have a chance to check how our children are getting on with their sustainability projects.
