Year 3
Film Makers
We are immensely proud of our year 3 film makers. Our children have worked on an animation project which involved working with the Arts Connect Ambassador Network and a professional animator.
Both classes wrote a script based on the theme ‘Impossible Dreams.’ Sophie Burrows, a professional artist, directed the children as they worked for three days to create their films. They used the Stop Motion app and worked in teams to create the different sets and animate their part of the story with voice-overs. 3As animation was based on the Egyptian Cinderella. This is the story of a young girl who is stolen as a child and forced to be a slave. Luckily, this story has a happy ending. 3Ns animation tells the story of Howard Carter and his experiences of investigating Tutankhamun’s tomb.
The finale of the project was a visit to Empire cinema where they watched the world premiere of their own animated films. This was a very exciting experience which involved six of our UMMAT primary schools. Each child was given a VIP ticket and they walked over a red carpet. They watched their own film as well as the entries from the other schools. The ceremony concluded with certificates and Woodhouse were very honoured to accept an award for Best Set Design.
We hope you enjoy watching our films.
