Year Five Plant Dissection

< Back to the news

The children in Year 5 have been learning about the different ways that plants reproduce. This week, they enjoyed having the opportunity to dissect a tulip and look at its reproductive parts such as petals, anther and filament. They collected all of the parts and then found out what the purpose of each of them was. The children found this very interesting and are looking forward to learning about how some plants reproduce asexually next lesson.
