Updated 22.1.2021 16:00
In light of changes to the local and national situation at the end of December 2020 and start of January 2021, we further strengthened our risk assessment in response to the new strain of Coronavirus. The latest risk assessment, in place for the national lockdown and with school closed to most children, can be seen here. Additional detailed risk assessments for school, including the previous versions of our main risk assessment, can be seen at the bottom of this page.
Our updated safety measures from October, including in relation to wearing of face coverings can be read here: Letter to parents from Mr Wilson, RE: Keeping Woodhouse Safe – increased measures to protect against coronavirus (COVID-19). Thank you to all parents for responding so positively to this and acting decisively to keep our school community safe.
In the event of your child being unable to attend school, they will be provided with home learning as described in our plan, here. We are now able to send home reading books each Monday, and these can be returned to school every Friday. To read the details, please click here.
If you need to speak to a senior member of staff, you can see where they are likely to be at the start and/or end of the school day here. Alternatively, you can email school on firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office on 0121 4641769.
Woodhouse Primary Academy opened fully for all children in September 2020. To do so safely, we made are a number of adaptations to our usual way of working. The details of these can be read in the following letters here:
For easy reference, details of just the arrival and departure from school can be seen here:
As previously shared, our PE provision will be slightly different during our full return to school from September 2020. Children will not bring a PE kit into school in a PE bag, instead they will attend school dressed in clothing suitable for PE lessons. Children will wear trainers or pumps, tracksuit bottoms (black/dark if possible), T-shirt (their school PE T-Shirt if possible) and their usual school jumper. Children will no longer change for PE, which as well as being safer in the current climate will also provide more time to focus on PE lessons! Please can children arrive in this way on their allocated PE day.
Monday - Year 5 and Reception
Tuesday - Year 2 and Year 4
Wednesday - Year 1 and 6W
Thursday - Year 3 and 6D
Friday - Rainbow Room and 6L
Any further guidance or updates to our plans will also be shared on this page. We thank parents and carers for their support and significant contribution to our successful return to school of all of our children for the Autumn term.
