No longer in place at Woodhouse Primary Academy
Update from 28th February 2022.
We have had a significant reduction in cases in school over the last three weeks of this half term. As such, we will be relaxing our risk assessment from the start of the new half term on Monday 28th February. You can see the updated risk assessment from the 28th February to 4th April 2022 here.
Update on 26th January 2022
As we currently continue to have a number of live cases of coronavirus in school, we will not yet be relaxing the current risk assessment, despite the removal of "Plan B" nationally on Thursday 27th Janaury. We will continue to ensure measures are proportionate and make every effort to relax these when conditions in school allow.
Changes from 10th January 2022
We have updated the school risk assessment in light of the prevalence of the Omicron variant of coronavirus in the community following the return to school. You can view the risk assessment in place from 10th January here.
Changes from 6th December 2021
We are asking any visitors into school to share evidence (e.g. email/text/app etc.) of a negative lateral flow test for Coronavirus within 48 hours of your visit please.
Changes from 29th November 2021
On the 29th November, the Department of Education updated their guidance: "Actions for schools during the coronavirus outbreak."
There is one key area which will affect Woodhouse Primary Academy, face coverings for adults:
- In primary schools: face coverings should be worn by staff and adults (including visitors) when moving around in corridors and communal areas;
- Children in primary schools should not be asked to wear face coverings. Face coverings do not need to worn outside.
We have made this change from 29.11.21. All visitors into the school building should now wear face coverings please, until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation in school and the local area - I will inform you of any further changes which may be necessary to keep us all safe.
For your information, the DFE guidance also now states:
- All individuals who have been identified as a close contact of a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, irrespective of vaccination status and age, will be contacted directly and required to self isolate immediately (for 10 days) and asked to book a PCR test;
- They will be informed by the local health protection team or NHS Test and Trace if they fall into this category and provided details about self-isolation;
- Further actions for educational settings may be advised by a local Incident Management Team (IMT) investigating a suspected or confirmed case of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
- For everyone else, isolation rules are unchanged.
